With the adoption of the From Every Nation document in 2004, Calvin College has encouraged an anti-racist posture. Anti-racism includes beliefs, actions, movements, and policies adopted or developed to oppose racism. Anti-racism tends to focus on institutional or structural racism rather than personal or individual racism. This workshop introduces and unpacks the meaning of Anti-Racism, as well as briefly reviews the themes and goals of the FEN document.

It is our pleasure to offer Talking Points, a monthly newsletter from the Office for Multicultural Affairs. The purpose of Talking Points is to keep the Calvin community, and our stakeholders, abreast of the activities of the Office for Multicultural Affairs and to provide “talking points” about the campus’ progress toward becoming a campus that is anti-racist, multicultural, accountable, and reconciling.
