Astr212 Projects, Fall 2002

This semester, students in Astr212: Extragalactic Astronomy and Cosmology worked in teams on 8 different observing projects. They were some of the last students to use the Celestraon 16" telescope in the Calvin College Observatory before that telescope was replaced. Most of the teams studied other galaxies, and two of the teams studied nearby variable stars which are key to measuring the distances to other galaxies.
