Concert honoring Larry Visser, Calvin College organ instructor
On Monday, February 15 at 8:00 p.m. at LaGrave Avenue Christian Reformed Church, Larry Visser will be honored as the Grand Rapids Chapter of the American Guild of Organists Composer of the Year. A service will be presented entitled "Come, Let Us Worship and Bow Down" in celebration of this honor that will include several of Larry's choral and organ compositions and hymn concertatos. Participants wil include LaGrave Chancel Choir under the direction of Merle Mustert, the Choral Scholars, a brass ensemble, timpani, Rev. John Steigenga, liturgist and Larry Visser serving as organist and pianist.
