E. B. Lewis
E. B. Lewis will be the guest speaker for students in grades one through three. Lewis is an illustrator of more than fifty children’s books. He received the Coretta Scott King Illustrator Award for his artistry in the book Talkin’ About Bessie: The Story of Aviator Elizabeth Coleman and was awarded the Coretta Scott King Honor for his artwork in My Rows and Piles of Coins and The Bat Boy and His Violin. Lewis is also a recipient of the Caldecott Honor for his illustrations in Coming on Home Soon. Other award-winning books, illustrated by Lewis, include The Other Side, a Notable Book for the Language Arts, and Down the Road, an ALA Notable Book. Lewis currently teaches at the University of Arts in Philadelphia.
