Professional Experience
Dr. Si holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M University where her thesis was "Applications of the thermodynamics of elastic, crystalline materials with the presence of electro-magnetic fields" and an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Dalian University of Technology (DUT) in China where her thesis was "Study of the effects of magnetic water treatment and heat exchanger surface modification to fouling deposition". She focuses her current research in two areas: (1) Study of the behaviors of crystalline materials under stress, and electro-magnetic fields (2) Theoretical and experimental study of the fouling deposition with the presence of magnetic and electrical fields. Before coming to Calvin she was most recently a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Integrated Engineering & Technology at Southern Utah University.
Memberships
She is a member the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE).
