The men's soccer team captured the MIAA title and earned their 14th NCAA tournament appearance in the last 16 years.

It’s a record-setting week at Calvin University. For the first time in school history, 10 Calvin Knights teams are nationally ranked all at the same time.

“Having ten teams ranked is a testament to the hard work of our student-athletes, coaches, support staff and the commitment of the whole university,” said Jim Timmer, Calvin’s athletics director.

For many of Calvin’s fall sports, the postseason has become just as much a regular rhythm as their regular season schedule. The men’s and women’s cross country teams are both ranked 18th, the men’s and women’s soccer teams are ranked 10th and 17th respectively, and the women’s volleyball team is ranked 11th heading into postseason play.

While at many colleges and universities early November symbolizes the changing of athletic regular seasons, for Calvin sports information director Jeff Febus, he knows this time of year to be “No Sleep November.”

“There’s no clean break in seasons at Calvin,” said Febus. “It makes for a very busy, but also an incredibly rewarding month.”

As Febus and his team are busy covering postseason play for fall sports teams, a slate of winter sports teams begin their regular seasons already ranked among the nation’s best. The latest preseason ranking has the men’s basketball team ranked 10th in the nation.

Spanning the fall and winter seasons are the men’s swimming and diving team, who is ranked 12th, the women’s swimming and diving team, who is ranked 20th, and the ACHA Division I and III men’s hockey teams, who are about halfway through their slate of games for the 2023-2024 season. The teams are currently ranked 19th and 15th respectively.
