Our Team
Gavin Anderson
Gavin is a junior majoring in financial planning and accounting, with a minor in economics. Growing up in Roselle, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, he graduated from Lake Park High School. Gavin is passionate about helping others achieve their financial goals in a way that honors God. Outside of Nexus, he runs on Calvin’s cross country and track teams and is involved in the Knight Investment Management club. In his free time, Gavin enjoys traveling, playing ping pong, and supporting the Chicago Bears.
Peter DeKruyter
Peter is a senior studying financial planning and accounting. Originally from Holland, MI, he graduated from Zeeland West High School. With a strong desire to serve others, Peter was drawn to the financial advisory field and looks forward to building relationships with his clients to address their needs. Outside of school, he stays busy playing football for Calvin, working, and enjoys spending time at the beach.
Judith Mukamurenzi
Judith is a junior studying Finance and Marketing, with a minor in Ministry Leadership. Raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, she graduated from Grand Rapids University Preparatory Academy. She is passionate about helping people come to the knowledge of truth and live life to the fullest through Christ. Outside of academics, Judith enjoys serving and walking alongside others on their spiritual journey. She co-leads a Bible and prayer group and is a Career Prep Fellow with Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT), where she is actively developing her leadership and professional skills. In her free time, Judith enjoys content creation and journaling.
Ethan Verkaik
Ethan is a junior double majoring in Spanish and Financial Planning. Grew up in the Kalamazoo area where he graduated from Kalamazoo Christian High School. He looks forward to helping others achieve their financial goals here at Calvin. In His free time Ethan loves watching Michigan State sports teams, playing pickle ball, golf, traveling, and hanging out with friends.
Brendan Strikwerda
Brendan is a Junior majoring in Financial Planning as well as Accounting. Born and raised in Hudsonville Michigan, he graduated from Unity Christian Highschool. He is eager to walk along with his peers to assist them in achieving and finding their goals. Brendan loves to bake cheesecake, act in Calvin's theater department, sing in Calvin's choir program, and engage in photography.
Nathan Holtrop
Nathan is a sophomore majoring in Business Analytics. Originally from Nicaragua, he came to Calvin University to pursue his passion for serving others through business and data-driven decision-making. With a desire to combine analytical skills and faith, Nathan is excited to help others steward their resources wisely and honor God in their financial goals. Outside of Nexus, he enjoys traveling, learning about global cultures, surfing, and playing soccer.
Naa Anang-La
Naa is a junior majoring in actuarial science and business analytics. Originally from Ghana, she graduated from SOS-Hermann Gmeiner International College. Naa is passionate about helping people manage their finances, no matter how small, while guiding them to see future investment opportunities and the risks that come with them. Most importantly, she desires to help others draw closer to God through the way they steward their financial resources. Outside of Nexus, Naa serves as a Resident Assistant for 2nd VR, Calvin’s social justice floor, and is actively involved in the International Students Association under the Center for Intercultural Student Development (CISD). In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family and cherishing the moments she shares with them.
