Northern European Art Tour
June 16–27, 2014
During our twelve-day journey, explore the great cities of London, Paris, Bruges & Amsterdam. In addition to visiting the British Museum in London, the Musée du Louvre in Paris and the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, there will be opportunities to visit Gothic cathedrals and other architectural gems. Most days will include free time for independent activities.
This tour will be directed by Calvin alumnus and professor, Henry Luttikhuizen. Henry has taught art history at Calvin for over twenty years and regularly lectures for CALL courses. Henry holds a Ph.D from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville and is a specialist in Late Medieval and Northern Renaissance art.
Overnights in London, Paris, Bruges and Amsterdam.
Visits to some of Northern Europe’s greatest art museums and works of architecture including:
- London—British Museum & National Gallery of Art
- Paris—Notre-Dame, Ste. Chapelle, the Louvre and d’Orsay
- Bruges—Groeningemuseum and St. Janshospitaal
- The Netherlands—17th c. Dutch Masterpieces at the Frans Hals Museum and the Rijksmuseum
