Cloudy Day

Today was another warm day, but as I write, it is 22 °C outside: significantly cooler than the typical 30 °C at this time of the evening. Why? Late afternoon clouds are providing relief from the heat. The clouds didn't extend very far from the mountain, so the low evening sun snuck under to provide some interesting illumination on the rock face. In fact, a transmitting tower was visible: I had never noticed it before.

At school, Mark participated in a swimathon to raise money for the Rhenish sports programs. He swam 54 lengths of the pool in 45 minutes.

Mark's friend Jean came over after chess club today (they both participate), because his mom, Kim, had to bring his sister, Kelsey, to a swimming gala.

Tracy went to the library at Stellenbosch University today. I stayed home to work on lectures for next week. Catherine was at daycare: they said she had a good day. When I dropped her off this morning, she gave Dudu a kiss on the cheek!
