I smile when I think of the poor guy who cut the Maclear's Beacon sign to point to the "right," and the guy who decided it would be more trouble than it is worth to report the error, have a new sign made, climb up again, and get it right. "Ag, what the heck, I'll just install it," he must have said. Every hiker for 50 years has looked at the messed up sign and had to read it backwards.
