About small group leaders

The small group leader plays a very important role in the shaping the experiences of student participants and the character of the LCI. From the inception of the LCI small group leaders have been relied upon to help create welcoming, thoughtful and supportive environments in their small group. With the small groups themselves providing an opportunity for the small group leader to develop and practice their leadership abilities.

When past participants reflect on meaningful aspects of the program from their experience participation in their small group is usually listed as number 1! Small group leaders have an important impact on the programs and its participants.

Each year we hire between 5-7 small group leaders. The small group leader received a modest stipend for their work and the opportunity for meaningful contribution to the LCI.
