The Global Supply Chain Practicum is an international travel course required for students pursuing the OSCM major but is open to everyone.

The Global Supply Chain Practicum is an international travel course required for students pursuing the OSCM major. This course is offered on campus during the fall semester and will focus on the impact of operations and global supply chain decisions in the context of local flourishing and economic impact. This course involves engagement with key technical aspects of manufacturing and operations management but also allows students to engage with reflective readings and writing considering the impact of economic opportunity, development, and ethical leadership primarily focused on economic deserts. Note: students must take both SCM 310 and SCM 311 in consecutive terms. For the 2024-2025 academic year this course will focus on business and engineering activities within the Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and the Pella, Iowa, USA areas and includes a two-week intensive travel experience (12 days in Mexico and 2 days in Iowa). This course will also fulfill the Business for Engineers requirement for students in the engineering program and counts toward the requirements for the Global Business Certificate and the Operations and Supply Chain Management minor.
