Calvin Supermileage, a team of five 2011 engineering grads, placed seventh nationally at the Supermileage competition, an international competition put on by the Society of Automobile Engineers (SAE), which challenges students to design fuel-efficient, single-person vehicles. The team's vehicle achieved 794 miles per gallon at the competition, held June 9-10 at the Eaton Corporation Marshall Proving Grounds in Marshall, Mich. The team took first place in the Newcomer Award category.
