Running for a Reason
The 23rd annual 5k Spring Classic is hosted by the Grand Rapids and Lakeshore area alumni networks. Proceeds directly benefit student scholarships and help put the Calvin experience within reach for remarkable students! Scholarship recipients are high school seniors who have demonstrated leadership in volunteer community service. Last year, a record number of 1200 runners particpated. Together we raised more than $16,000 for network scholarships.

- Calvin 5k Spring Classic Run and Walk: The USATF-certified course runs through Calvin's scenic, relatively flat campus.
- Striders Corporate Challenge: Teams of four or more coworkers register for the Calvin 5k Spring Classic.
- K4L Challenge: Teams of four or more Calvin students register for the Calvin 5k Spring Classic.
- Karen Muyskens Family Fun Run: Children ages 3–8 run for fun on the indoor Sturrus Track in the Huizenga Tennis and Track Center.
- D&W School Challenge: Schools organize a group of participants for community-building fitness.
- Gift of Life donation: This organ and tissue donation program aims to improve and extend lives.
