Stories of Alaska
A production of Communications Arts and Sciences students
Produced by Debra L. Freeberg
In the Gezon Auditorium
At 8:00 p.m.
Celebrating 75 Years of Inspiration, this laboratory theatre production also honors two great storytellers and emeriti professors, Ann Noteboom and David Holquist. They instilled a love of narrative performance in generations of students and we are the richer for it.
On Jan 3, 1959, Alaska became our 49th state. Celebrating its 50th anniversary of statehood a bit early, the CAS department brings Alaskan sagas of fact and fiction to the stage in December. From the actual recounts of bear attacks to the memories of nurses who helped to create Alaska’s health care system, from native legends to native struggles to retain their heritage, from the memories of the 1964 earthquake to the laying of the Alaskan pipeline, this evening of storytelling and theatre is certain to delight audiences.
