Digital signage is the tech term to describe the use of televisions to display messages and advertisements in public places. Dozens and dozens of software and hardware manufacturers offer solutions. Calvin College uses a basic, and very low-cost, system called RedPost.
Flipping the Class
Flipping a class means the in-class activity and the homework activity is swapped, or 'flipped.' Evening homework time is spent watching a 15-20 minute video recorded by the instructor, and the time in class is spent on activities to help understand the topic introduced by the video.
The Flipped Class Network is a good source of info and support.
