CHEM-303 Fundamentals of Biochemistry
A survey of biochemistry focusing on the structure and function of proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleic acids. Fundamentals of metabolism and regulation will be presented in the context of exercise science-that is, how the body biochemically supports the energy demands of exercise. This course is not primarily intended for students who wish to major or minor in chemistry or biochemistry, but it may substitute for Chemistry 323 in all programs. The lab component of this course is Chemistry 383. Prerequisite: Chemistry 253 or 262.
