Seeking answers

Calvin has a tradition of excellence in mathematics and the natural and applied sciences and engineering. The faculty are dedicated to excellent teaching as well as advanced scholarship and research, keeping abreast of the latest developments in many fields. They regularly consult in industry and engage in active research programs, publishing results in leading journals—often with student co-authors.

Gaining perspective

Science, along with every other discipline, is presented from a Christ-centered perspective. As a student, you are guided in the growth of your own intellectual and spiritual perspective that is true to both God’s natural and scriptural revelations.

Expanding possibilities

Education is more than merely acquiring technical knowledge. Grounded in historical faith perspectives and engaged in current science, Calvin graduates are prepared for expanding possibilities in a rapidly changing world:

  • Through internships and research, you are not just "book smart," you'll have practical knowledge as well.

  • Opportunities to study abroad provide a multicultural perspective in the global marketplace.

  • Employers look to Calvin, with its broad education infused with Christian values, for thoughtful employees who can address real problems that affect quality of life issues around the globe.
  • As a student, you will use state-of-the-art technology from your first year. Employers and graduate schools recognize that you are "ready to hit the ground running," able to keep pace with rapid technical advances and their social and ethical implications.
