Label each of the "window panes" with a clockwise current. Let's call the
lower left pane i1, the lower right pane i2, and the upper pane i3.

Writing KVL clockwise around the upper pane, note that we would need to add an extra unknown to account for the voltage over the current source Ix. You cannot simply write Ix in the equation, because that is not a voltage. So instead, we write by inspection:
