# Scripts from MATH 355 written in Octave

Each is a text file which you can save (with the .m extension intact!)
in the Octave working directory on your local computer. If you are new
to Octave programming, you might take note of the many comment lines
that appear immediately after the function declaration. The contents
of these lines is what Octave will echo to the screen when you ask for
`help` with a given command.

#### Scripts for Gaussian elimination

- rowswap.m, to swap two rows
- mrow.m, to multiply a row by a constant
- mrowadd.m, to add a multiple of one
row to another
- elemMat.m, to generate an elementary (or
elimination) matrix
- permMat.m, to generate a permutation matrix

#### Scripts for Fourier series

- fsApprox.m to compute, for a given
function at specified
*x*-values, the *y*-values of a
truncated Fourier series approximation
- fourierCoeffs.m computes approximate
Fourier coefficients
