Pairwise comparisons of population means
The weight gain of women during pregnancy has an important
effect on birth weight of their children. If the weight gain
is not adequate, the infant is more likely to be small and
will tend to be less healthy. In a study conducted in three
countries, weight gains (in kilograms) of women during the
third trimester of pregnancy were measured. The results
are as follows:
Country ======= |

- How is this table of information similar to and/or different
from a two-way table?
- Use pairwise comparisons of differences in means to
determine if the evidence provided by these samples
is significant at the 5% level to conclude that
the weight gain during the 3rd trimester of expectant
mothers is different between the countries included.
