PROJECTS

You will need to complete six projects this semester. Each one will result in some sort of written paper or report, usually about 2 or 3 pages in length. These should be type-written, unless specified otherwise. In general I am more interested in content than form. Choose a format for each that is suitable to the content (but note instructions for the Calculator project where form is also important). For parts of some projects, you may find that a chart or a table, or a two (or more) column list helps you present your information; for others, a standard multiple-paragraph paper may be better. Most of these do not need to be particularly long. Try to get to the heart of the matter and state it clearly and succinctly. Some of the projects are mandatory; for others you may choose from among several options. More options may be added later in the semester, but not necessarily. You may also feel free to suggest an alternate project to replace one of those listed here, but be sure to get it approved by me before doing it. Here is a table summarizing the projects and their due dates. Descriptions of the projects appear below.
