Some items related to the Presidential Exemplary Teaching Award

On Feb. 14, 2002, I was awarded the Presidential Exemplary Teaching Award. [Here's what the medallion looks like, in case you're interested.] A number of people have asked that I make two items available, both related to the awards ceremony. I hesitate to do so because it seems self-serving and inappropriate. Please understand that I have put them here only to make them available to those who have asked and not to publish them to the world.

1. 10 Commandments for Teaching: These are personal principles that apply to me and that I use to guide, evaluate, and refine my teaching.

2. A transcript of my acceptance speech
