These webs are kept up on the window in this room on purpose. They are 40 years old, and quite fragile.  A man reahed for one of the bottles (meant purely for decoration) on one of the sills recently, and brought down a whole lot of webs in the process. But the guide said that the spiders work quickly to replace the webs!
