This is the sign on the exterior of the Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering building at the University of Stellenbosch. The University of Stellenbosch emblem is on the left of the sign. The maroon "S" is for Stellenbosch, and the oak leaf symbolizes all the oak trees in the town. I think I have mentioned before that a nickname for Stellenbosch is "Eikestad," which means "Oak City" in Afrikaans.
