Portage
Because (a) the only way downstream goes through the rapids and (b) the rapids are not navigable except by professionals with kayaks, we had to Portage our boats about 200 m from the right branch to a cliff above the left branch (gorge). This was very hard work, demanding four people for each boat (six for a guide's boat).
