Road to Atlantis
We took the back roads North out of Stellenbosch on this cloudy day. We were quite concerned about the weather, because the flowers along the West Coast are much more enjoyable in sunny weather. It is amazing how quickly one gets into purely rural farmland-type countryside north of the N1. This entire area was originally fynbos, but it is now all cultivated wheat and canola. The yellow fields in this photo are planted with canola.
