Jonkershoek Nature Reserve

Our church is raising money for a trailer load of food (mostly maize meal) to go to Zimbabwe. As a fundraiser, they served thin Dutch-style pancakes at R5/pancake after the service today. Yum.

Tracy is still in Johannesburg. She'll arrive in Cape Town tomorrow for the second leg of her conference/seminar. She'll be staying near Signal Hill

After lunch and some homework for Mark, we went to the Jonkershoek Nature Reserve. The hiking trails are closed due damage from the fires earlier this year. We'll have to try again in September when they reopen. Nevertheless, there are some stunning views of the mountains.

We found a spot where fly fishers try their luck at a series of small, man-made dams on a mountain stream. Picnic tables provided a nice place for a snack. And, because we were there in the late afternoon, the light was fantastic for photographs. Mark and Catherine enjoyed playing in the streams and under the willows. Lots of pictures below.
