This movie shows Daisaka's data set No. 4, a simulated patch of Saturn's rings, as viewed foreshortened 15 degrees from edge on. The front is at the bottom, the back at the top. The 39,788 particles are grouped into three equal size color bins by their vertical position (red: more than 0.5 m below midplane; green: within 0.5 m of the midplane; and blue: more than 0.5 m above the midplane). The movie is dominated by blue because the other particles are shielded by blue ones. The movie loop rotates through all azimuthal perspectives.

When viewed along the wakes (azimuths 70 and 250), more blank space between particles can be seen.

A version of this movie loop with twice the time resolution is also available.
