This
sculpture investigates instances of extreme faith and the tension between
sacred and profane. Pentecostal Snake Handling, the American Revolution,
Jonestown, joke telling, and the Bible are all used to promote a dialogue
about an aspect of Reformed Christian theology, that the entire world is
covered by
G-d's grace and redemption. Perhaps we exercise belief and unbelief in ways
that intersect and inform each other. The sculpture includes performative
elements such as distribution of Kool-Aid, tattooing, jokes, and heat.
