Website: www.stolaf.edu/church/chapel

Mission Statement
St. Olaf, a four-year college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, provides an education committed to the liberal arts, rooted in the Christian gospel, and incorporating a global perspective. In the conviction that life is more than a livelihood, it focuses on what is ultimately worthwhile and fosters the development of the whole person in mind, body, and spirit.

Chapel
Chapel takes place in Boe Memorial Chapel on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays at 10:10 a.m. and Tuesdays, at 11:10 a.m. and Thursdays at 11 a.m.

The St. Olaf daily chapel and Sunday worship services are available from this web site during the academic year. In addition to the live webcasts, daily chapel services are archived and available

Sundays
Holy Communion
The St. Olaf Student Congregation gathers for Holy Communion each Sunday at 10:30 in Boe Chapel, except during school breaks. Though it is officially a Lutheran student congregation (ELCA), non-Lutheran students and visitors are also present, welcome, important and active in the life of the congregation.

Worshipping in Northfield
Students not only worship at St. Olaf College, but also head out into the Northfield community. A partial list of local churches is available at the Northfield Chamber of Commerce web site.

Other Worship Opportunities
Midweek Service of Prayer
The Student Congregation also sponsors a mid-week service of prayer and meditation each Wednesday evening at 10:00 pm. Especially for people who prefer to worship with a smaller group, this is a relaxed, quiet and meaningful time with God's word and God's people.

Highlights
From trios and quartets to very large ensembles, more than one-third of our students is involved in one or more of the music ensembles for which St. Olaf is internationally known. Some of these ensembles are willing and interested in opportunities to perform or be part of a worship service.

St. Olaf Christian Outreach (SCO) is an energetic group of college students focused on reaching out to local youth and churches through retreats, worship and service projects. Teams meet weekly to plan retreats and improve their skills as Christian leaders.

Lives of Worth and Service
While the college has always asked students to consider questions of vocation throughout their time at St. Olaf, the purpose of this Lilly Program is to make this focus more intentional. Several opportunities are available for students to participate in the Lilly Grant Program, whether in the classroom, through mentorship experiences, retreats, internships and more.

The Office for Servant Leadership and Office of Church Relations has developed a program to allow five or six St. Olaf students to live at Luther Seminary in St. Paul and serve at internships at area churches or service organizations (application).

There is an affirmation of welcome called the "Reconciling in Christ Statement."
