From the Mission Statement
Providence Christian College has been established for the express purpose of inculcating into the minds, lives, and hearts of the college community a Reformed world and life view of reality.  Therefore, the curriculum does not consist in a random collection of courses, but rather a wide range of studies that seeks to reflect the interrelatedness and the unity and diversity of the various aspects of God's creation.  This broad spectrum of courses is designed to equip the student to better understand, engage, and transform our culture for Jesus Christ.  By God's grace, it will enable them to excellently prepare for and to carry out their God-given tasks and responsibilities in our contemporary society on a day-to-day basis so that a profound difference will ultimately be made in our world.  By God's grace, their education will equip the students to carefully discern the religious direction of our society and, consequently, to promote the claims of Christ over all of life.

Chapel
Chapels will be Monday and Wednesday from 9:30-10:00am, with a time of cookies and fellowship following.   Chapel speakers will include faculty and staff members and local pastors and community members.   Chapels will consist of times of singing, communal prayer, and sharing of the Word.

Because we feel chapel is vital for the health and growth of the community, it is expected that all members of the community, students, faculty, and staff, attend every chapel.   Our CARE groups will help keep us accountable.

Sundays
Providence students must seek out a local church for regular worship, spiritual oversight, hospitality, and encouragement.   As soon as a choice has been made, the student needs to notify the Office of Student Life and his/her home church.   The Office of Student Life will then work with local churches to establish "student-memberships."

Highlights
Each student will be assigned to a Care Group that will meet once a week after chapel.   These groups will be led by faculty, administration, or staff.   The purpose of these groups will be to discuss spiritual issues and concerns, pray for each other, and grow closer to each other and to God.

Student and faculty/staff led Bible studies will be organized for resident and commuter students.   The Spiritual Life Committee of the Student Senate will oversee the implementation of these studies.   There will also be opportunities for Residents Hall Bible studies.

From their student life pages:   "Since our goal is to follow Christ, we are concerned about building a community and engaging the culture. The Providence family (faculty, staff, and students) will be a part of your life as mentors, friends, and fellow believers. We will worship together, learn together, eat together, and play together as we all grow in our faith. Another distinct aspect of student life at Providence is our commitment to engage culture. Again, we follow Christ's lead. Most colleges will challenge you to change the world and influence culture, but they expect you to begin the day after you graduate. Christ didn't wait until his disciples "graduated" before sending them out to engage culture, and neither will we. Our unique four day school week emphasizes this commitment; the long weekends are available for us to use to engage culture. Some of these weekends will be used as academic enrichment or cultural exploration while others will be used to enjoy the recreational opportunities in the area, but each one will engage our diverse and unique California culture. Students will be exploring, learning, and serving alongside faculty and staff as one unified body of believers reflecting God's light to a fallen world."
