Dear Friends:
The identity of worshiping communities and their expectations regarding worship continue to change. Thus the training and development of worship leaders is vital to the church's future. The results of this survey about worship leaders, sponsored by the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship, are one means through which we can assess not only the church's current training efforts but also its future needs.
This survey has truly been a continent wide, multi-confessional effort. Respondents represented 45 different church groups. They come from a broad cross-section of North American worship leaders, in the United States (east, west, midwest, and south) as well as Canada. Respondents attend churches described as evangelical and mainline, rural and urban, small and large. Please view these preliminary results. More detailed results will appear in the months ahead.
Gratefully,
