How the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship Serves West Michigan

The Calvin Institute of Christian Worship (CICW) at Calvin College and Calvin Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan, serves worshiping communities throughout North America and around the world. But because of our location in the West Michigan area, CICW is especially able to serve worshiping communities in our region with our events and resources.

Speakers and Consultants
. Our staff includes speakers and preachers who are able to provide guest leadership of worship, adult education, and other events in area churches and organizations.
. Our staff members are available to consult with you about all aspects of worship and congregational life, such as worship planning, congregational leadership, dealing with transition and conflict, and related challenges.

Resources
. Our ministry partner, The Ministry Resource Center (MRC), a premier collection of practical resources for all congregational ministry, is located in the Hekman Library at Calvin College. Many resources are available for short-term check out.
. Our website (www.calvin.edu/worship) introduces you to the work of CICW and how we can serve you.

Events
. Our sponsored and co-sponsored events for continuing education include lectures, workshops, and courses for worship, learning, and fellowship. Many are hosted at the Calvin campus in Grand Rapids, while some are offered at other sites throughout the region.
. Our annual Symposium on Worship, which brings worshipers and worship leaders from around the world to the Calvin campus, is a significant opportunity for learning and worship for all worshipers.
. We welcome students of any college to enroll in a worship-related course or contact one of our academic staff members for assistance with worship-related research.

Grants
. Our Worship Renewal Grants Program fosters well-grounded worship renewal in congregations and worshiping communities throughout North America, made possible through the generous support of Lilly Endowment Inc. Many of these grants have been offered to worshiping communities in Michigan and the Midwest. (How to apply.)
