Planning Ahead

Worship Service Database

Search over 300 complete worship service outlines to adapt for use in your worship

One of the most valuable practices for planning worship is simply to plan ahead. "In our ministries we have always discovered great benefits in planning a worship calendar," write the authors of Designing Worship Together. "Short notice and short-range planning lead to missed opportunities, but those who [plan] ahead are able to give more careful thought to each season of the church year, to collect ideas and information, and to discover more resources." (For the authors' ten benefits of planning ahead, see pages 99 to 103.)

Over the next year, we will be posting monthly planning guides, well in advance of the months they cover, to encourage worship planners to plan ahead. The featured resources of these planning guides are the book Designing Worship Together, and a database of worship service outlines designed by the authors of this book.
