More Than Words
Thomas Troeger tells us that when we pray the Lord's Prayer, we should
"prepare to breathe the living thought those well-worn words impart." Our prayer, and our worship, are full of "well-worn words"—words that risk becoming bare or even empty from repeated or thoughtless use. By contemplating and exploring the shades of meaning and history of individual words, we can recapture some of their richness and freshness.
