A rubric for reading through the complete psalter in a month
In 1696 Nahum Tate and Nicholas Brady were authorized by the Council of the English King to print A New Version of the Psalms of David, fitted to the Tunes used in Churches. These psalm versifications were printed as an appendage to the Prayer Book (without tunes underlaid).
One could also find there in some editions a rubric for reading through the complete psalter month after month. Such a habit produces an intimate familiarity with the manifold ways the LORD God responds to the cries of God's needy faithful people, also in our day.
