Gracia Grindal
Calvin College Festival of Faith and Writing 2006
The writing of hymn texts is a complicated process involving faithful reading of the Scriptures, an awareness of the tradition of Christian poetry in English, as well as the long tradition of hymnody. Grindal explores various rhetorical and poetic ways to approach the writing of hymn texts-ways that are faithful to Scripture and Christian tradition yet also beautiful and expressive for Christians today.
