The Willow Room of the Calvin College
Prince Conference Center filled with the
strains of Old Hundredth, sung in English,
Spanish, French, Japanese and Mandarin
Chinese. Before sitting down for a dinner
to kick off the 2006 Calvin Symposium on
Worship, nearly four dozen overseas guests
stood up to worship in one voice but five different
languages. Guests found that it's one
thing to read about the praise of God "from
every tribe and language and people and
nation" in Revelation 5; it's another thing to
experience it.
The Calvin Institute of Christian Worship
(CICW) welcomed 43 overseas guests from 13
countries - including China, France, Japan,
the Netherlands, Romania, Singapore, South
Africa and the United Kingdom - to this
