Calvin Theological Seminary
hosted by the Center for Excellence in Preaching
The Gospel of Mark has long been a favorite of preachers all over the world and is also the key gospel featured in the Year B of the Revised Common Lectionary that begins in Advent 2008. For this year's Fall Preaching Conference the Center for Excellence in Preaching welcomed back Thomas G. Long, Bandy Professor of Preaching at Candler School of Theology, Emory University in Atlanta. At this conference Long reviewed the main themes of Mark's Gospel and also pondered how best to preach those themes to our contemporary culture. Long preaching on Mark at the morning worship service that opened this one-day event.
