Just Worship:  A Conference on Justice and Liturgy
Exploring the relationship between worship and justice-action
January 2003
Edmonton, Alberta

Presenter Nicholas Wolterstorff
The God whom Christians worship and praise is the same God who seeks and demands justice and righteousness. God's people are called to "act justly" and to "love mercy" with the same zeal that they bring to their worship. In fact, a recurring and startling message of the prophets is that without justice, worship can even be an offence to God. How can worship form the just community and, conversely, how does a concern for justice find expression in worship?

Through worship, lectures, workshops, and small group discussions, leaders explored the relationship between justice and worship, suggested resources for informing and empowering local congregations, and provided occasions to share the wisdom and experiences of the faith community.
