WORKSHOP
Polyphony Camp: Singing Together for the Fun of It
Directed by Anne Heider, Roosevelt University, an award-winning conductor, composer, arranger, and teacher. “Group singing is intrinsically one of the most human of experiences,” wrote Harvard’s Jameson Marvin. “There is no more poignant salve to the human condition than the sight and sound of voices joined together to express a commonality of spirit.” That’s why Polyphony Camp (say “pol-LIFF-any”) is not about rehearsing for a choral performance, it’s about sharing the pleasures of singing together. Registration on a first-come-first-served basis; no auditions needed; appropriate for adults and high-schoolers. Previous experience in a chorus is welcome but not required. Seven sessions: June 23, 24, 25, 26 and 30; July 1 and 2. Tuition is $100 for five or more sessions and includes your songbook. For details visit Seminars in Christian Scholarship

WORKSHOP
The Preachers’ Oasis: Developing Gifts, Refining Skills
All preachers benefit from having some time away from the pressures of sermon preparation and delivery. The Preachers’ Oasis workshop is designed to give pastors just such a break while at the same time providing an opportunity to reflect on the preaching task with an eye toward getting better at what we are already good at. We want to deepen the gifts God has given to us, refining the skills by which we employ those gifts for proclamation and ministry. Instructors: Randall Bytwerk, Scott E. Hoezee, Mary Hulst. Sponsored by the Center for Excellence in Preaching. Details
