WOWAW 27: ‘A language for joy’
This week’s Words Of Wisdom About Worship:
Years of going to worship have taught me a language for joy. The language of joy doesn’t always need to be in words. We can speak it through music, dance, architecture, and other arts, too. Worship, ideally, maps the experience of awe to its genuine source, the Creator, and gives people a means of response. I am beginning to understand that the Bible commands us to worship and praise not because God is an egoist who loves flattery, but so that we may not be left without a language of joy.
