Preparing to Pray 10/14/05

Jesus Christ,
You are high priest forever,
you presented yourself in our name
to pour out your precious blood
        for the cleansing of our sins,
        as the prophets had predicted.
As we worship this week, we say with Paul that
we “know nothing but Jesus and him crucified.”
