The Re-launch of Calvin.Edu

Surveys in Process

Tuesday, June 24, 2008

After all of the focus groups and listening sessions and time spent on campus by our Dotmarketing partners we’re now into the next step in terms of feedback:  surveys.  Currently we are crafting five surveys which will be Web-based and which will give various audiences a chance to tell us what they like about the current Calvin Web site, what they might like to see done differently, how our Web site communicates and more.  We’re hoping to get those surveys completed, compile the email lists of recipients and then get the survey link sent to our audiences (prospective students, current students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff) in the next few weeks.  Dotmarketing also is currently doing a peer review for us of some competitor’s Web sites.  Should be interesting!  That’s about all for now.

  • Very much enjoy the web site.  In particular, the roving web cam that covers campus life and activities.  I also appreciate the updated shots of construction activity on Campus http://www.calvin.edu/admin/physicalplant/projects/

  • Compared to other college and university websites that we’ve seen..Calvin’s is close to the top. The webcam is great..as we..too..live pretty far away (Georgia) and love to see at least what the weather is like for our son. Thank you Calvin College for a wonderful first year! We look forward to the next few with you!

  • Your web site and the regular e.mails to the parents keep us updated and relieved. The web cam is particularly interesting. Glad to note that the college gives much stress to Faith and Christian activities. God bless.  Ben Thomas & Daisy. (Parents of Emily Sharon Thomas)

  • I do love that webcam!  Can’t begin to tell you how often I look at it - it really does make me feel like I am in Michigan for a moment.  And my day is especially brightened when a student writes “Hi, Mom!” in the snow.

  • I will give a hearty “amen” to the comments of others here…I also appreciate the roving web cam, and would love more locations! And the parent newsletter and newspaper are terrific.

  • i love the roving web cam…especially when i find my 2 daughters!  since we live in calif…it makes them, and calvin, closer for us.

i love the parent connection letter too…it is good to know what events our kids could attend.  it makes the phone calls easier too.

  • The newsletter connects us with our daughter as well as the school since we live out of the United States.  We appreciate all you do to provide this vehicle of communication.  Thank you

  • More webcam’s would be great! The construction cam’s are great, but a webcam in the commons, or science building atrium, FAC, or other places would be fantastic!

  • I really appreciate the website.  It helps me feel connected with the college.  It was a great help to our family since we live out of the country.  Keep up the good work.  God bless!

  • Calvin College has a very good website now. However, it is better to add some faculty’s information and student’s events. Recruiting more reputatble professor and developing new programs are very important. Wish Calvin College a wonderful future.

  • It’s a really solid and useful website already, but these days occasional makeovers seem to be expected, huh. Survey very clean and straightforward. Thanks!

  • I think the website has been produced thoughtfully. I particularly enjoy the Lawn webcam. It’s interesting to get the weather and temperature on campus and I keep looking to see my daughter walking between classes. Keep up the good work.

  • Not sure what you wanted above…

I think it’s great that you are seeking to refine, redefine Calvin to the population.  I think your school is a wonderful one.  Wishing you the best.
