Special Update From South Africa
We just wanted to give everybody a heads up about this weekend. Tomorrow (Saturday), January 13, our group will leave Cape Town and fly north to Johannesburg. We will be staying at a Bed & Breakfast, but we have no clue what the internet connection will be like. We may have luck on our side again and have a free wireless hookup, but we may be without a connection for a few days in which case we will do our best to find an internet café to keep you all updated. Thanks for all the comments – we enjoy reading them aloud and embarrassing everybody – and please keep us in your prayers as we travel.
fly safe. Love ya, mean it.

Your messages and pictures are greaaat!! Thanks for all the effort in making us feel like we are on the trip with you!
I am torn - big Hope / Calvin Basketball game tomorrow at Calvin! I am a Calvin Alum, Calvin Parent and Hope Parent: I will cheer for both teams and wish for the better team to win : - )
Praying for all of you every day. Be safe and have fun.
Love,

P.S. Go BEARS vs. Seattle SeaHawks on Sunday.
Posted by Tim Bolt on 01/12 at 08:06 PMHi again, Carlie and group!
Here I am, just to provide fodder for embarrassment; that’s the goal of all these postings, you know…
Too cool to have met Desmond Tutu!! Especially after having spent a lot of time researching his life, Carlie! We are enjoying all the updates and photos. Love the penguin sign; kudos to whoever took that photo as a unique memento.
ASKING A FAVOR OF THE GROUP: It is Carlie’s half-birthday today (if you are reading this on Jan. 13); our family gets a little carried away with birthdays and even the 1/2s, so you can all embarrass her or make her day or whatever, by singing “Happy 1/2-birthday to you.” Go on, now…
Thank you, all! And enjoy the rest of your time!
