about
The primary academic objective of this Interim is to gain firsthand knowledge and understanding of how racial injustice has been encountered in political and industrial contexts. Students will explore - in readings, classes, and visits - South Africa's apartheid past, the struggles for and painful miracle of its democratic transition, and the political-economy of the mining industry where interactions of politics, business, and race are poignant.

I just talked to Marlin. They will not able to get to a computer for 2 or 3 more days. They are all safe, enjoying themselves in Kruger Park, today in SkuKuza Camp. They were happy to see lions, along with many other wild animals! Sometimes it rains, and it is hot. Tomorrow they will drive to Blyde Lodge. Everything is going well!
