Summer Hides Around the Corner
A Poem for Summer
oh glorious summer, i cannot wait for thee.
thou art the essence of my existence (besides Jesus) and the fuel that drives my heart.
what beauty, how captivating!
your breath draws me towards you
as if i were enraptured by a golden thread
which guides me towards your heart.
oh glorious summer, i cannot wait for thee.
hmm, i’ve forgotten how fun poetry is. perhaps i should do this more often. if you didn’t notice, i’m kind of looking forward to summer. here’s a lil overview of my “vacation”...
May 13
fly out of grand rapids and arrive in toronto. once there, i’ll head over to my rented apartment, which i will be sharing with several housemates. everything will be happening pretty quickly as i only have 2 days to get ready for summer school at the university of toronto. i’m taking two courses, introduction of psychology and contemporary british fiction. these classes will fulfill some of my calvin core course requirements. i’ll also meet up with some possible web design clients, a church and a real estate agent. perhaps i can earn some money while i’m there. that would be quite nice i think.
July 6
fly out of toronto and return to grand rapids, where i will stay with a buddy for two nights.
July 8
i’ll be heading off to colorado for my first young life camp. i’ll be a leader at crooked creek, which looks really sweet! i can’t wait to hang out with my buddies =)
July 15
leave colorado and return to grand rapids, where i’ll be living at calvin’s knollcrest east apartments. i’ll be staying there for the remainder of the summer, and perhaps i’ll be working for calvin college’s center for social research. i went to the interview and i’m awaiting a response from the person in charge. i hope i get the position! in late august, my two buddies from hong kong will be joining me at calvin college as incoming freshmen. one word: sweet.
September 1
move back into the dorms and setup my music studio. time to make some music with my buddies!
