S.B.06 - xbox360


the 2 games andrew and i have been enjoying on his xbox360

it’s been so long since i’ve had the time for some video gaming.  the graphics on the 360 are really amazing!  it’s even better when you have a big-screen HDTV to enjoy it on, coupled with bose surround sound.  oh boy, i’m so spoiled here.  and u know what?  i like it :) just yesterday, i finally beat andrew at NBA 2K6 with the new jersey nets.  it felt so good to finally beat him!  the problem is, he’s pretty much invincible with the miami heat.  i think dwayne wade is way too dominant in the game… i mean, he can plow through any defense.  same with shaq.

just today, we bought perfect dark zero, and it’s been pretty sweet.  the campaign was a bit slow and frustrating, but the xbox live environment was pretty sweet.  although it’s a first person shooter, it’s still quite different from halo.  the controls seem more sluggish.  other than that, it’s still sweet.  oh yeah, an odd thing is that you can’t jump.  i found that very strange.  we can roll and crouch, but we can’t jump.

i also headed downtown today with pastor jim.  it was cool hanging out with him again.  i think he’s one of the coolest youth pastors i know.  right now he’s studying at tyndale, and pretty soon, he’s starting a new job at a new church.  we visited the two main music stores downtown, steve’s music and long & mcquades.  steve’s music was a bit of a ghetto place.  i didn’t find anything great there, so we left pretty quickly.  then at long & mcquades, i struck gold.  i found a sweet second-hand 8-channel mixer for dirt cheap.  it has 4 tracks that have XLR inputs, and it outputs in XLR as well.  all that was less than CAD$70.  when i got back home though, i looked at the bill and it appears that they overcharged me by $10.  i was a bit upset and i called them up.  they were nice about it though and told me to bring it in and they’d reimburse me the $10.  no big deal.  oh, and one interesting incident at long & mcquades.  i was talking to the salesperson, and i mentioned that i was visiting from america.  he remarked, “oh i’m sorry then, we don’t sell to americans here.” i laughed at that, but strangely, he kept a straight face.  i wonder if he was really joking, especially after i saw an extra $10 charged onto my bill.  i’m sure it was all a mistake, but it would have been a very interesting incident if it was intentional.

oh yeah, i also tried using my mastercard debit card at future shop when we were buying perfect dark zero, and for some reason, it didn’t work!  that kinda worries me, because i didn’t bring too much canadian cash up.  i hope my mastercard works soon :-S
