Interim Break is Here!
aaah, wonderful holiday :-) i’m so glad that we have a break between interim and spring semester. there is a ton of tiny tasks that needs completing and they accumulate over interim. meanwhile, interim is so busy that there isn’t time to finish them. now’s the time to do it all! time to get my driver’s permit, textbooks, finish scholarship applications, and clean up my room. speaking of my room, it’s empty at the moment. in fact, my entire suite is empty. my roommate just left for chicago to see his brother at moody bible college and my suitemates are still in africa. my suitemates are bound to return at any time though, so i must make good use of the time i have with myself. it’s nice to have some peace and quiet. this will be a good time to reconnect with myself and my inner spirit (sounds so new age, i know). no noise (almost everyone has left for interim break), no visitors… just me, myself, and i.
reflecting on interim, it was a really nice learning experience. it’s nice that i can take any course i want, whether it’s in or out of my majors. i took music theory, and that was invaluable. i could only read percussion music before; that was part of my drum lessons 6 years ago. now i can read melodies, and more importantly, write melodies down! i love writing songs, and this will help immensely. i’ll also be able to understand what other musicians are talking about when i’m playingn in a band. just wonderful :cheese:
so spring semester is starting in several days. it’s gonna be interesting balancing everything out. the thing with extracurricular activities is that you don’t know how it’s going to mess with your schedule once classes and homework kicks in. the goal for me will be to balance out young life, work, and homework. oh yeah, and exercise. i haven’t had exercise since the start of christmas break! i need to get myself to the gym and whip myself back into shape for intramural basketball. oh yeah, that’s another thing i need to balance into my schedule. hmm… maybe i’m overloading myself.
